Find one problem you can actually show.
Pick a local business you know. Compare its public Google listing with its own website. You are looking for a question to ask the owner—not a reason to tell them their marketing is broken.
01Opening hours
Do the website and listing disagree? Take a note of both. Ask the owner which is current.
02Website link
Does the listing open the correct business website? Is the destination working on your phone?
03Contact details
Do the public phone and contact details match the business website? Do not make test calls that waste staff time.
04Services
Is a service clearly offered on the website missing from the listing? Confirm it is still offered before suggesting an addition.
05Photos
Do the public photos help someone recognize the business? Ask whether the owner has current, accurate photos they want to add.
An example first message
“Hi [name], I noticed your Google listing says you close at 5, while your website says 6. Which is right? Happy to send the two screenshots if that helps.”
Use this only when you have found that exact mismatch. A reply is a conversation, not a sale. If the owner wants help, agree on the changes and price before you work. The owner keeps ownership and grants appropriate access; never ask for their password.
