410 STRATEGY · FREE STARTER CHECKLIST

Your first Google listing check

Choose one local business. Compare its public Google listing with its own website. Record a question, not an accusation.

  1. Hours: Do the opening times agree? Ask the owner which is current.
  2. Website: Does the link open the correct business website on your phone?
  3. Contact: Do the public phone details match? Avoid unnecessary test calls.
  4. Services: Is a current service on the website absent from the listing? Confirm with the owner.
  5. Photos: Can a customer recognize the business? Ask whether the owner has current photos to add.

Record what you found

Business: ________________________
Listing URL: ______________________
What I observed: __________________
What the owner confirmed: __________

Example first message

Hi [name], I noticed your Google listing says you close at 5, while your website says 6. Which is right? Happy to send the two screenshots if that helps.

Only use the example if that exact mismatch exists. A reply is not a sale. Agree on scope, fee, access and handover before work begins. Google Business Profile is free; any fee is for your work. The owner retains ownership and grants appropriate access. Never ask for their password. No ranking or earnings guarantees.
